Pitch

SAVING SALLY is an English-language bittersweet love story dipped in a glaze of sci-fi and fantasy.

 

Marty, the geek, is an aspiring comic-book artist who is secretly in love with his beautiful best friend, Sally, the gadget inventor. Like every love story, there are complications: Sally has abusive monster parents and a literal dick for a boyfriend, while Marty has the innate ability to do nothing about everything despite his vivid fantasies of defending the love of his life from the big bad world.

It’s a familiar coming-of-age story told with super-stylized visuals. The project blends live action, 2d animation and an abundance of warm, fuzzy feelings to create a totally unique and loveable little film.

 

We've been working on this for many years and we're now approaching the final stages of post-production, so we're asking for your financial help to speed up the process so the film can finally be completed by the end of 2013. We will use the money to replace the internal organs I've sold hire more people and buy more powerful machines. We will also use it to mix the sound and make the music.

 

We hope you folks find this to be a worthy endeavour to support. And even if you don’t have any money and live in a garbage can (with internet access), just help us spread the word and send us positive vibes.

Saving Sally - Our Neighborhood

Hello. It’s just another workday in our little studio as my dog watches over the quality of our work.

I don’t post much updates since we are deep in post production & all our progress are so boringly technical like finally removing the color blue from a white reflective shirt after 5 days of rotoscoping (borrrring).

 

Anyhoo, instead of talking about what we have been up to, let me just show you our neighborhood here in Manila, Philippines.

 

See that building far away? It’s quite scary in real life; it’s unfinished & left to loom over all of us.

This is our inspiration for one of the main locations in our film. This is where Sally lives with her monster parents.

This is the outside of our studio, which is the basis for Marty the protagonist’s house.

I hope you folks let other people know about this project so more people can be hired to join our team : )
